Finance Manager, NHS Accountant, IFRS 16, Capital Accountant

Your new company
This large Public Sector organisation has a new opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant to join then as a Finance Manager financial reporting, to oversee their Capital finance plans

Your new role
The post holder will assist and support the Deputy Director of Finance and Head of Financial Services in the provision of an efficient and pro-active Financial Management Service. The post holder will also assist with managing financial services budgets, investigating and advising on highly complex issues and provides corporate reports/strategic financial and business planning advice in their area. The Finance Manager is an essential part of the finance team, taking the lead responsibility for their area including; helping to manage and advise on all financial matters, in particular:


  • Provide financial advice and support to the CFO, Deputy Director of Finance, Finance Business partner and other budget holders in the financial management and control of the organisations capital programme.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial and management information to the relevant budget holders on a monthly basis to enable effective monitoring of the capital programme against the available budget
  • Monitor and advise on the day-to-day financial implications of the PFI contract for the organisation.
  • Creation of I&E, balance sheet, and cash flow, together with slides for the integrated performance report for the monthly Board
  • Preparation of monthly financial returns to the regulators for external performance monitoring purposes
  • Management of 2 finance staff



    • What you'll need to succeed
    You will need to be a qualified accountant or part-qualified, and have strong technical financial accountant and capital accountant skills. Knowledge of IFRS16 would be an advantage
