Financial Controller

A 12 month contract to join a Manufacturing business based in Northampton. The role includes managing and developing 2 people and working with internal non-financial stake holders to complete reports. There are a few interesting projects included to bring some diversity to the role.

Description

• This role is reporting into the District Financial Controller.
• Mentor and Develop Management Accountants who have stepped up to look after month end/balance sheets for 3 sites.
• Accounting for logistics area - storage, transport, RH&D.
• Overhead accounting across Technical, IT, HR, Admin, Legal & Professional and reconciling Group management recharges.
• Working with the wider finance function on weekly costs analysis/KPI's, ad-hoc reporting and other areas of the P&L as and when required.
• Working on adhoc Finance projects with the DFC around profit initiatives, customer profitability visibility and process improvements.
• Budgeting and quarterly forecasting across all 3 sites for logistics and overheads.

Profile

• Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment - desirable
• Experienced in management accounts, balance sheet, detailed financial analysis, challenging, looking at bigger picture with commercial acumen
• Understanding and working on ledgers & shared service (AP & AR)
• Advanced Excel ability and experience working with ERP systems, SAP & Sage desirable
• Comprehensive knowledge of process improvement techniques
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task
• Qualified
