ACA/ACCA/CA First Time Mover Opportunity | Financial Accountant | Coventry | Permanent | up to c£47,000

Your new company
Hays are working with a well-known listed organisation based in Warwickshire, who are looking for a Group Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your new role
As Group Financial Accountant you will be responsible for the delivery of a group financial reporting and accounting service, ensuring compliance with group accounting policies and relevant Accounting Standards. You will consolidate all of the financial information for all entities across the group, including management and statutory accounts, budgets, plans and forecasts.
This role will work closely with other specialist teams within the Finance Department including Tax, Group Treasury, FP&A and Investor Relations.

Further key accountabilities include:

    • Working as a key member of the team that delivers the group financial statements and interim report ensuring compliance with IFRS.
    • Accounting for complex areas especially in relation to financial instruments, pensions and share based payments.
    • Maintaining regular communication with subsidiary finance teams to understand business developments and leading them through the related financial reporting implications.
    • Reviewing and challenging the consolidated information for unusual or unexpected balances appearing on consolidation, and working with subsidiary finance teams to resolve issues identified.



What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this position you will be an ACA/ACCA/CA/CIMA Qualified Accountant or Finalist (qualifying in the summer) with prior experience operating at the centre of a large (FTSE) listed company environment either as auditor or within a finance team.
You will have a strong understanding of IFRS and FRS 101 accounting standards, including presentation & disclosure requirements within listed company and UK statutory entity reporting.
You will have both strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present complex technical issues clearly, in addition to this, you must be able to think clearly and logically to resolve these issues.
