Head of Finance job in Cheshire, hands on operational leadership for this SME manufacturing business.

Your new company
This family owned, SME manufacturing business is still in the scale up phase, and with a diversified product offering have established themselves as a key operator in this channel of the FMCG sector. With additional partnerships being forged and contract wins, the business is looking to continue their organic expansion plans, alongside increasing supply chain efficiency by better leveraging recent capital expenditure.

Your new role
Reporting to the CFO, you'll take control of a small and competent finance team that will require commercial leadership through the next phase of their growth. You will also be tasked with upskilling and building out the finance team in the near future, creating a function based on what you deem suitable to support the business at various stages. With the increased expectation of the larger customers, there will be additional transition of core financial reporting alongside operational reports to be integrated to the new business. Working with a close-knit team, your role will really be a broad one supporting a variety of colleagues across marketing, sales and procurement.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have a sound technical accounting knowledge from completing your ACA, ACCA or CIMA accounting qualification. Ideally experience of working in a small to medium sized business to comprehend the full reporting process as well as demonstrating your exposure to various product manufacturing, e-commerce, retail and/or FMCG businesses. Importantly you will act with natural leadership qualities and show your ability to work with the Board and non-finance colleagues to lead on all finance matters.
