Financial Controller - Real Estate Group - London - OUR CLIENT are a dynamic and entrepreneurial, family office backed - real estate group who have evolved their offering and continue to grow their 'full cycle' property holdings and source new opportunities through regeneration and communities, also offering a lending platform. They are now looking for an accomplished Financial Controller to join their team to support business accounting activities as a part of continued accelerated growth.
THE ROLE: will be responsible for managing the finance and accounts department and will ensure that robust processes and procedures are in place to deliver a highly competent service. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and a right first-time approach. You will be undertaking below listed, but not limited duties, such as:
- Actively engaging with stakeholders across the group to ensure the understanding of the operational context and being able to anticipate and support Finance activity.
- Supporting and overseeing the finance team in their ongoing development and successful delivery of their day-to-day tasks.
- Ensuring smooth operation of the finance departments whilst driving improvements and ensuring accuracy throughout the department inc. ongoing development and implementation of procedures/processes.
- Providing leadership and line management to the finance team.
- Performing treasury management and cashflow forecasting for all companies.
- Ensuring all company taxes are managed and paid e. VAT/CIS.
- Reviewing and updating financial appraisals and models including producing and present information to assist strategic decision making.
- Responsible for managing statutory reporting requirements for all companies and being aware of pertinent Terms and Conditions.
- Preparing group management reporting packs (monthly / quarter), including consolidated management accounts, budget vs actuals, project progress, cashflow forecasts and equity reconciliation.
- Managing the year-end statutory accounts preparation process.
- Liaising with external accountants to confirm fees on their quotes for statutory accounts.
- Preparing year-end group audit files and liaising with group auditors and ensuring compliance.
- Supporting the CFO in other areas.
THE PERSON: To be considered for this role, you must be an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with at least 12 months at FC level and with previous experience in a role of similar responsibility and working within a group structure within property or investment finance. You will be experienced in managing, developing, and growing a team and be able to provide a strong business acumen and the ability to build relationships with all stake holders. You will be self-motivated and be able to work independently and as part of a team. You will be able to take accountability and work to tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy and analytical skills, excellent communication skills and advance use of computer systems, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
