Group Financial Controller - Real Estate. OUR CLIENT is a major developer and manager of leisure properties up and down the country. They look to deliver long-term value to the properties and currently they are looking ways to diversity their portfolio which has significantly grown in the last few years. They are now looking for a Group Financial Controller to work closely with the Finance Director to manage / oversee the group accounting functions.

THE ROLE:

  • Delivering monthly management accounts for all companies, and consolidated accounts.
  • Delivering budgets for all group companies.
  • Overseeing the preparation of statutory accounts for all Group companies and Group consolidation in accordance with financial reporting standards.
  • Managing the annual statutory audit process.
  • Leading and managing a team of accounts staff.
  • Constantly reviewing department procedures and ways to make improvements.
  • Leading the integration of new acquisitions into existing infrastructure.
  • Ensuring acquisitions are correctly accounted for.
  • Driving financial control and reporting to provide greater insight into the business thereby highlighting opportunities to increase profitability and increase margins across the Group.
  • Enhancing deliverables in relation to the month-end close and financial statement preparation process.
  • Developing and strengthening internal controls, ensuring compliance and quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.

 

THE PERSON will ideally be a practice qualified accountant ACA / ACCA with sound technical accounting experience with the ability to deal with large group of companies and complex consolidations. You will be a strong team leader with ability to manage a fairly large team and be responsible for their growth and training within the business. It is essential tech savvy with the ability to review and make recommendations for systems and systems improvements.
