Are you looking for a 9 months contract as a hands-on Senior Management Accountant? This role is based in Wednesbury covering for maternity leave and is central to the Finance Team. As Management Accountant you will support in the preparation of the Company's management accounts and reporting on a day-to-day basis, ensure all the financial controls are in place and the timely submission of the monthly to management and reports to the other departments.

The Management Accountant's role is very varied and reports to the Financial Director. You will:

  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly accounts in line with the accounting timetable;
  • Prepare the month-end pack, including Profit and Loss schedules, journal entries, margin reporting, variance analysis, accruals and prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Provide support to the purchase ledger team ensuring invoices are processed and coded correctly;
  • Process online payments, update and maintain the cash book, including bank reconciliations;
  • Provide KPI reporting to the department managers;
  • Ensure the preparation and submissions of VAT returns, CIS submissions and office for national statistics questionnaires;
  • Any other Adhoc reporting required by the senior management team and support other team members as the need arises.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in an accounts department with a solid understanding of the finance function and accounting processes, particularly sales and purchase ledger, is essential;
  • A solid understanding of 'book entries' will be required;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the business;
  • Have the ability to multitask and be able to cope with the pace of a volume-driven busy accounts function;
  • Be hands-on with helping out with the workload of other team members should the need arise;
  • Have excellent attention to detail and be organised;
  • Good understanding ERP systems and advanced Excel knowledge; would be an advantage.
