Subcontractor Clerk

Based in St Albans, Hertfordshire our client who are industry experts, are now looking for an Subcontractor Clerk to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

This job would suit someone with experience working within a finance function, preferably within the construction industry. This position will aid the smooth running of finance processes; ensuring invoices are recorded accurately, payments are made on time and supplier queries are answered effectively

The company has experienced exponential growth and plans to significantly increase in the coming years, partnering with several blue chip clients. The role will include scope to assist with other accounting tasks and a chance to shape processes and procedures in this fast-growing company.

The successful individual will have strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will have experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Experience working with Sage is preferred, but not essential.

Job responsibilities:

Booking purchase invoices in Sage, ensuring they are allocated to correct project and cost codesChecking subcontractor payment certificates are compliant with policy, and booking details in SageManaging the invoice approval process, ensuring approvals are received in a timely manner and invoices are paid as they fall dueMonitoring the shared accounts inbox and replying to supplier queries Help manage the roll out of the new finance system and impact processes across the businessRecording payments in SageReviewing accuracy of expense postingsMaintaining supplier accounts, ensuring information is up to date and that balances agree to supplier statementsOther adhoc finance tasks as required
