Part Time Finance Assistant / Assistant Accountant | Beighton | £25,000 (FTE) 

The Opportunity 

Super opportunity for an Assistant Accountant / Finance Assistant / Bookkeeper to join an SME on a part time basis (25 hours per week, Monday - Friday).

It’s a smaller business (<£3m turnover) doing exceptionally well.  You’ll be working directly for the head of finance and supporting with all of the transactional finance areas and month end close. 

It’s a welcoming and professional SME with approachable and encouraging Directors. 

£25,000 full time equivalent, circa 25 hours per week. 

It’s one of those rare part time roles that would work really well around school hours – you could potentially work 09:30 – 14:30 giving you opportunity to enjoy a challenging role but superb balance and flexibility. 

You’ll support with sales and purchase ledger, payment, reconciliations, Vat returns…. 

You’ll ideally have completed AAT but this isn’t essential – you need a good variety of accounting experience and a calm approach to learning new tasks and solving new problems. 

The Head of Finance is brilliant – someone who will be great to work with and someone who will hugely appreciate and value your support. 

You’ll be busy and have variety but without having pressure or excessive workload.  You’ll have autonomy to manage your time without micro management and your efforts with be completely recognized. 

Required:

• Previous experience at assistant accountant / bookkeeper level.
• A hands on approach to transactional finance within a busy and growing SME (engineering sector). 
• Good IT competency and ideally experience of Sage products. 
• Great attention to detail – you need to be someone naturally well organised and methodical in your approach. 
• Diligence – you are proud of your accuracy.
