Our client is a VC backed , Fintech start-up, with expectations to rapidly scale. Supported by high profile investors they are developing innovative, data driven and accessible products that will save the ultimate consumers money, enhance peace of mind and  help to shape a new ,fairer credit card  marketplace.  The first product has been tested, is well funded and launch is imminent.  Given the plans for roll out  and increased market penetration, as part of their journey, they are seeking a broadly skilled,  Head of Finance to support commercial decision making and help to create value.  As well as full financial responsibility the role will be integral to supporting  future fund raises.  The founders/ management team are of exceptional quality and experience and as their new hire you will have the opportunity to play a role in truly driving growth. 

Role and responsibilities:

  • All management and financial reporting, including statutory reports and filings
  • Day to day management of finance function, building out systems and processes that are fit for purpose
  • Manage the budget process (P&L, balance sheet, cash) in conjunction with the CEO
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and board reports
  • Manage the commercial KPIs and measures that support decision making by the executive and the board
  • Maintain robust cash flow forecasts
  • Take an active role in managing costs and risk
  • Business partner to the senior management team
  • Support potential future fundraisings / exit opportunities
  • Management of accounting support team, building the finance function as required
  • Oversee the credit servicing processes and data management

Candidate profile:

  • Qualified accountant with exposure to financial services or FinTech
  • Ideally, experience of a scaling business and growing finance department
  • Commercial appreciation and genuine interest in tech
  • Strong IT skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, organised and completer finisher
  • Enthusiastic with a proactive personality and a 'can do' approach
