Purpose of Role

As Senior Accountant you will be responsible for providing accounting services to a range of SME & corporate clients, as well as intra group companies. It will be a hands-on role covering a range of key monthly and yearly activities such as management and financial reporting and statutory and tax reporting.

The role will require effective communication and an approachable demeanour as you as you will be working across multiple clients with varying demands.

Key Accountabilities

The successful candidate will provide client accounting support across financial and management accounting, statutory reporting, corporate tax analysis and VAT compliance.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Statutory financial reporting under FRS102/FRS101/IFRS
  • Management accounts production including client reviews
  • Management of the month end process including bookkeeping and banking
  • Statutory and management accounts consolidation
  • Company secretarial support
  • Day to day client communication / management
  • VAT & corporation tax reporting including the completion/submission of HMRC returns
  • Ad hoc tasks as required

Client 

The role holder will take responsibility to ensure that they deliver high quality service to all clients, intermediaries and stakeholders,  to ensure longevity of relationships and providing technical and other support to their team.  They will interact directly with their clients  to identify client needs and deliver upon opportunities to increase levels of client service. The role holder will ensure they deliver on client commitments to agreed deadlines and to a high standard.

Commercial

The role holder will achieve personal targets as set out for their role for time recording, utilisation and working capital management.  They will support their Director in understanding and acting upon the commerciality and profitability of their client book by reviewing and controlling WIP, ensuring prompt collection of fees and highlighting revenue opportunities across their team. They will be able to develop relationships with clients and intermediaries and identify opportunities to do additional business with them across our range of service offerings. They will build understanding and familiarity with the working capital cycle and the prompt collection of debts.

Risk

The role holder will have an awareness of risk policies and an understanding of how these are applied to client and business situations.  They will have an awareness of the different risk roles undertaken within ZEDRA.  They will work within defined parameters will ensure that the team meet their risk targets. 

Knowledge and Experience

Professional and Technical Experience

The successful applicant will have experience of working with High Net Worth clients and on complex structures within the fiduciary field and will demonstrate first class client service delivering against the needs and demands of their clients. The successful candidate will have experience operating in a similar role and will be able to demonstrate a high level of technical competency with proficient skills in Excel and experience using financial applications (The firm currently uses Navision and Taxcalc for accounts preparation). They will have the ability to impart their knowledge to others and be able to communicate effectively and clearly at all levels.

Language Skills

The successful candidate will be fluent in English and an understanding of other languages is desirable.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

The role holder will be a qualified member of an accountancy body (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with at least 3 years’ experience. They will also demonstrate a sound understanding of financial reporting standards including FRS102 / FRS101 / IFRS.

The successful applicant will be able to maintain their Continued Professional Development (CPD) hours in line with their relevant qualification through a mixture of internal and external training.
