Your new company
This organisation is involved in imports, marketing and sales of of well known brands. Part of and international group with Head offices in The Netherlands. They have a substantial Warehouse in Suffolk which is where their operations base is, and they are looking for an ambitious accountant to join them as Financial Controller
Your new role
As the Financial Controller you will be playing a vital role in supporting and influencing the senior leadership team to help them understand their financial position and use your professional expertise to develop initiatives and improve business performance. You will be accustomed to producing accurate financial reports and forecasts, as well as detailed cost analysis to help drive profitability across the business.
You need to be a clear communicator with a high degree of commercial awareness in this role, someone who can explain complex financial information to non-financial personnel. Owing to the nature of the business it will be well suited to someone from a logistics, manufacturing and commercial background, with financial partnering experience. The role will offer you the opportunity to liaise with numerous colleagues from across the whole business.
Key Responsibilities include:
Ownership and accountability of preparation of management accounts, yearly budgets, quarterly forecasts.
Preparing and maintaining weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts
Analysing in Power BI trading and net margin by sales team/customer/product and pass information to the relevant people in the company for review and plan of action
Analysing stock position and highlighting issues to the relevant team members
Preparing Business Review and Working Capital presentations for review by the Group parent company Processing Payroll journals in the system based on the reports from the 3rd party Payroll company
Be the main point of contact for the auditors * Participating in new software implementation.
Providing financial administrative support to all departments.
Suggesting changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions.
Management and development of a small financial team
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you have relevant accounting qualification(s) e. AAT/ACA/ACCA/CIMA, or the ability to demonstrate appropriate skills and knowledge. However the client is keen to develop the right candidate is is happy to offer a study support package and full training for the right person.
What you'll get in return
A salary between £40,000 - £45,000, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, 5% pension, free parking and a staff discount.
