About Our Client

Advanced Research Clusters (ARC) is Europe's leading science, innovation and technology real estate platform with over 1.5m sq ft of existing clusters in London and Oxfordshire, with a development land bank with potential for over 5m sq ft of additional development.

ARC was created through the merger of the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus team with Arlington Asset Management after both businesses were acquired by Brookfield, the world leading real estate private equity group. ARC vision is to create a leading world network of science and innovation clusters. They are inquisitive and actively acquiring new investments in knowledge rich locations, both in the UK and continental Europe and all new acquisitions will seek to expand and strengthen ARCs existing network of knowledge-clusters. This expansion will be achieved through a combination of direct acquisitions and through corporate partnerships or joint ventures with investors, Universities and Government institutions.

Job Description

As part of a growing finance function you will be based out of the Group HQ on Harwell campus (hybrid working available) which has responsibility for a portfolio in excess of £2bn.

  • Full ownership of consolidated (quarterly and annual) IFRS financial statements.
  • Assist in the integration of acquisitions for financial reporting as required.
  • Driving the creation and development of an efficient consolidation process.
  • Taking a proactive approach in the Development and documentation of internal controls.
  • Prepare and review reporting packages as required to the boards.
  • Coordinate, plan and complete financial reporting components of the external audit.
  • Responsible for the review of tax submissions and the monthly calculation of corporation tax and deferred tax provisions for quarterly reporting.

The Successful Applicant

  • ACA/ACCA qualified along with comprehensive relevant finance experience
  • Prior real estate experience highly desirable
  • Prior tax experience highly desirable
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Good organisational/time management skills and rigorous eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to build relationships
