  • To provide a high standard business partnering service to relevant stakeholders ensuring there is sufficient financial understanding and information to allow effective decisions to take place.
  • To provide a professional, high quality and responsive finance service that supports and promotes efficient and effective service delivery in line with the MOPAC objectives and priorities and those of the Chief Finance Officer.
  • To lead the delivery of the budget setting, closing and budget monitoring processes and ensure these adhere to corporate guidance, corporate timescales and statutory deadlines.
  • To actively contribute to relevant change programmes and support continuous improvement of functions and services.
  • To help to develop and deliver the medium-term financial plan and actively promote this strategy across MOPAC and to act in accordance with the corporate objectives of the medium-term financial plan.

The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities.

MOPAC are looking to recruit a Finance Business Partners to work with a variety of stakeholders within the organisation to ensure the effective financial management of their often complex budgets. A qualified accountant you will be expected to foster good working relationships, providing scrutiny and challenge of decisions in support of the Police and Crime Plan. You will also contribute to the MOPAC change programme, ensuring the financial workstreams are developed and effectively rolled out across the organisation. Political Restriction

Political Restriction; under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011) all members of staff of MOPAC will be politically restricted without the right to apply for an exemption.

Security Vetting Clearance

The successful candidates will be expected to undergo the necessary security vetting which may take around 8 weeks to be completed. Applicants will also need to have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last three years.

Where are we based?

We have moved to a hybrid working model with office hubs at Union Street (near London Bridge) and Newlands Park (postcode SE26). On average staff will work 1-2 days a week from an Office Hub, but this may differ depending on the role requirements.
