Accounts Assistant - Real Estate - OUR CLIENT is a dynamic and entrepreneurial, niche real estate company who have evolved their offering and continue to grow their property holdings and investment stock and now seek to create and add value through acquisition and development / planning and asset turnaround. Due to restructuring/ internal promotions in the finance department, they now have a requirement for Accounts Assistant who will be a first point of contact for the Finance team with a high level of attention to detail and being able to balance pace and accuracy.

THE ROLE: Reporting to Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining Purchase Ledger including the checking and posting all invoices and liaising with all suppliers regarding supplier queries.
  • Maintaining accounting system and posting transactions.
  • Reconciling banks and intercompany accounts following month end procedures.
  • Registering VAT for new companies.
  • Preparing VAT returns for all companies.
  • Updating control sheet for management accounts/bank reconciliations.
  • Preparing payment runs for all companies alongside with Actuals vs Budget.
  • Maintaining corporate books and spreadsheet.
  • Updating and paying for confirmation statements for all companies at Companies House.
  • Submitting all dormant companies to Companies House.
  • Assisting the analysis work for year - end accounts submission.
  • Managing and maintaining office fixed asset register.
  • General Office administration as required.

THE PERSON: To apply for the role, you should be ideally studying one of the following AAT, CIMA, ACCA and have gained solid experience of transactional accounting - ideally in a real estate environment - It is extremely important that you have excellent attention to detail and are able to complete tasks accurately from the first attempt. Also, you should be a confident Microsoft Office tools' user and possess excellent analytical abilities along with above average communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently or part of a team and to work to tight deadlines is also very important.

Hybrid working is offered and study support is offered in the form of 50% of all reasonable costs.
