Description
The key responsibilities for this Manchester based, brilliant Financial Controller role will be as follows:
- Operating in a collaborative manner, able to work comfortably within a matrix environment
- Using your influencing skills & credibility to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders at an international level
- Problem soving on an ad-hoc basis, addressing difficult issues with a flexibility and pragmatism to adapt to business requirements
- Deploy commercially astute thinking, with an inquisitive nature and desire to understand drivers behind the numbers and reports
- Present technical information to non-technical audience
- Lead monthly Balance Sheet Reviews with the RTR team and regular reviews with stakeholders internationally
- Ongoing review and development of processes and controls around monthly and annual reporting of a number of legal entities
- Work with the Head of Financial Reporting to determine the appropriate accounting driven from changes in accounting standards and/or policy changes and feedback to the business as required
- Work closely with Business Finance teams on rolling out business change initiatives and advise on implications of updated technical accounting standards
- Ensure all Group policies (including accounting, tax and treasury) and key controls are adhered to internationally; follow up all agreed Internal Audit actions
- Manage Approval Frameworks in all labels and ensure they are updated regularly
- Review the Subsidiary Accounts, liaising directly with the RTR team and business teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the legal entities prior to Finance Director review and sign off
- Assist Head of Financial Reporting to provide technical accounting expertise to this division, especially in relation to revenue recognition
- Provide answers to complex statutory accounts, audit and technical queries back to the business
- Manage ad-hoc activities such as co-ordination of internal and external audits, and requests from Business Finance Directors and Business Partners
Profile
The key requirements for this phenomenal Manchester based Financial Controller role are as follows:
- Ideally be a minimum of 5 years' PQE within a financial control team
- Fully ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualified accountant
- Experience in implementing internal policies and procedures and complying with external policies such as regulatory and accounting procedures
- Ability to interpret financials into meaningful insights, to inform decision making and deliver against key metrics
- Extensive experience in month-end reporting and strong working knowledge of finance systems
- A forward-thinking, outgoing person with an ability to communicate well with internal stakeholder
