Assistant Accountant

Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently working with a well-established dealership based in the Harrogate area as they look to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

Duties & Responsibilities of Assistant Accountant include:

* Processing of sales ledger receipts and production of debt reports
* Purchase invoice input, coding and verification
* Overview of the purchase ledger including review of invoice register, unallocated payments and petty cash
* Reconciliation of supplier statements
* Preparation of payment schedules, ensuring all invoices are paid in line with agreed terms
* Reconciliation of the company bank account
* Production and reconciliation of monthly journals relating to accruals, prepayments, depreciation and loans
* Maintenance of the fixed asset registers
* Reconciliation of a number of balance sheet items

The ideal candidate will have the following:

* At least 2 years' experience in an accounting environment
* Studying towards ACCA/CIMA qualification
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work confidently towards deadlines
* Strong educational background
* Ideally experience in the automotive industry
