Assistant Accountant

Axon Moore are partnering with a well-established and successful business in Denton, who are looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to the team. The company is passionate about its people and why they are employee owned!

Primarily supporting the activity of the management accounts team to produce accurate and timely monthly information. Ability and desire to grow and develop in the role to take on new responsibilities and grow with the management accounts team. Liaising with the external payroll providers to process any adjustments to payroll each month. Support production of the smaller entity management accounts within the month end process. Liaise with Sales and Purchase ledger teams on queries and help to complete the reconciliation process.

Salary - £23-25k per annum depending on experience, 25 days holidays plus bank holidays, study support pension, parking, employee owned business with share scheme!  

Key Responsibilities:

• Day to day support for the management accountant.
• Training and upskilling to take on smaller entity management accounts and elements of the main trading business accounts.
• Work with the Purchase Ledger supervisor to resolve any queries.
• Work with the Sales ledger to resolve any queries.
• Inter-company reconciliations and adjustments.
• Working on the invoice discounting system and reconciliations.
• Payroll support and liaising with the external payroll providers to process adjustments.
• Ad hoc reporting and support as required.

Experience and skills:

• Computer literate, ideally with experience on Sage200.
• At least 1 years’ experience in a similar role or within an accounting dept or recently qualified graduate.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Desire to develop and grow via on the job training (plus external training as required)
