Sellick Partnership is currently working with a leading multinational energy company to recruitn a Financial Accounting Team Leader on a permanent basis. The Financial Accounting Team Leader will be responsible for a team of 3 invidivuals taking ownership of the balance sheet whilst providing continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will work on site in Newcastle upon Tyne 2 days per week with the remaining 3 days working from home.
Responsibilities:
- Completion of month end to timetable
- Review and post journals from the business whilst providing robust challenge to Finance Business Partners
- Support the month end process with detailed analysis as needed, both on a regular monthly and ad hoc basis, delivering value added insights
- Take ownership of specific statutory entities and control of allocations and balance sheet control accounts
- Completion of balance sheet reconciliations, including investigation and reporting on items at risk
- Control data processed into SAP and ensure adherence to company accounting policies
- Provide analysis and respond to management information requests, supporting and challenging appropriately in support of key business decisions
- Liaise with the Business and Financial Business Partners to ensure the operational structures in the financial systems are set up and maintained in a timely manner
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the Business
Experience:
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA)
- Experience of complex business processes and tools for large data analysis
- Good at managing relationships particularly with the business
- Proven record of delivering continuous improvement and driving change
- Ability to confidently challenge at senior levels within the organisation
