Elevation Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be partnering with a fast growing SME business in Doncaster to recruiting a Head of FP&A.

This is a new role, that reports into the Managing Director. Initially you will need to work closely with the SMT to understand their requirements from this role, and you will then need to develop the FP&A function including building a team, and then moving forward you will be instrumental in support the strategic plans of the business.

The Head of Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for leading on financial planning, costing, forecasting, and business reporting. You will lead and work with the analysis team and the wider Finance team to ensure that accurate management information, analysis and insight is available to enable informed decisions around strategy and performance.
Demonstrating an understanding of the organisation, the job holder will report regularly on financial and other business performance measures, providing strategic financial advice and reporting to the group MD.

Responsibilities will include:

- Co-ordinating the financial planning process for the business including latest estimates and performance against budget
- Developing the key suite of business reports to enable informed decisions by the SLT
- Analysis of key reports to identify opportunities for the business, and presenting them monthly to the senior leadership team
- Leading the Analyst team, you will be responsible for empowering, inspiring and coaching team members to enable effective delivery of objectives and supporting individual's development and careers
- Prepare management information packs and reports for the SLT including all commentary
- Work with the SLT to formulate the medium to long term financial and strategic plan
- Delivery of competitor analysis, market trends and associated commentary
- Attend key management meetings
- Preparing business cases to support new investment, strategic and other business decisions
- Preparation of quarterly forecast and annual budget
- Understanding of monthly financial results and producing a suggested action plan

Key skills / qualifications:

- It is essential that you hold a professional finance qualification (CCAB or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience and strong track record of preparing, analysing and interpreting an organisation's financial information (both for internal and external purposes) to support strategic decision making, including the provision of meaningful financial analysis and project appraisal as necessary
- Present recommendations and balanced conclusions, with supporting evidence, to senior stakeholders to support decision with impact and professional credibility
- Highly effective communication and collaboration skills
- Demonstrates the ability to identify and engage a wide variety of stakeholders
- The ability to take ownership of allocated assignments and effectively manage their own time, being able to prioritise and plan the work of the team, demonstrating good project management skills to deliver high quality work at pace.
- Ability to work successfully within and lead a team, with experience of setting realistic and motivating objectives, monitoring performance, giving feedback and supporting development.

The basic salary for the role us up to £50,000.

They do also have a very generous scheme that is profit based, and pays up to £3,000 each quarter.
