We are looking to recruit an FP&A Controller for a fast growth technology business who are Birmingham based and offer hybrid working.  As the FP&A Controller you will work closely with an impressive CFO in building new and robust financial information for review by the Executive.  You will also be responsible for the budgeting and forecasting process, producing the monthly financial reports, and managing a team of 5.

You will have strong leadership capability, be commercially focussed, and have the personality to influence and build relationships across the business.  You will be a “true” team player who is happy to roll their sleeves up when required and support other areas where necessary.  You will be able to multitask and prioritise workload with a positive, flexible attitude in a fast paced, PE backed business.  This is an exciting time to join given the business are set to double in size through acquisition over the next 3 years. 

The Detail

  • The preparation of the monthly finance board report, with commercially focussed commentary to drive commercial success.
  • Producing monthly reporting for our investors detailing how material events, acquisitions and strategic initiatives have impacted the monthly results.
  • Responsible for the budgeting and forecasting across the entire business, managing the budgeting model, updating it to reflect changes in the products and services that supports the grow organically and through acquisition.
  • Manage a growing management accounting team.
  • Integrate the financial reporting for new acquisitions and manage the financial reporting at a Group and acquisition level.
  • Produce and lead the KPI reporting across the Group.
  • Tracking the financial progress of strategic commercial initiatives and strategic customer wins.
  • Identifying and proactively actioning improvements in the efficiency and degree of automation in the management accounting process.
  • Build strong relationships with the members senior leadership team and work with them to improve the level of insight within the financial reporting.
  • Get involved in projects including a new ERP implementation.

The Person

  • Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/ACMA
  • Previous experience in a high growth organisation – PE experience advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working closely with senior leadership and non-finance functions - positive can-do attitude
  • Ability to lead the management accounts team, and co-ordinate teams work across the finance function
  • Very strong IT skills - ability to pick up new systems quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • High levels of commercial awareness and an understanding of the businesses high-growth objectives
