Management Accountant job in Warrington paying up to £45K with two days working from home.


Hays Senior Finance are supporting a global business to recruit a Management Accountant into their UK head office based in Warrington. This large and dynamic business has grown via acquisition over the last ten years and work with some of the largest companies in the world - they are a leading expert in their sector. Due to ongoing expansion the central finance function needs to expand with a new Management Accountant.

Key duties will include -

  • Coordinating and hands on production of monthly management accounts, responsible for posting accruals, prepayments and cost transfer journals.
  • Banking & Bank Recs
  • Management Accounting of Central and Regional cost centre overheads
  • Variance analysis and provision of commentary
  • Fixed Assets Register Maintenance and Reconciliation Process
  • Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations & Review to FD sign off level, identifying Risks and Opportunities
  • Preparing contract performance reports
  • Inter-company invoicing of recharged costs and subsequent reconciliation
  • Responsible for monthly allocation of costs to contracts.
  • Assistance with information provision for annual tax processes
  • Group Reporting inputs of Debtors/Creditors/Stock/Capex and Cash.
  • Prepare for Annual EY external Audit and answering Auditor queries in a timely manner
  • Update of process notes and procedural documentation
  • Supporting the team with improving finance reports and process.


We are looking for senior part qualified or fully qualified Accountants (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with at least two years experience working in a Management/Financial Accountant role within a busy, multifunctional, Finance department. Experience will have been gained ideally in a larger SME (£30m+ Turnover) or a role within a larger organisation that has provided significant exposure to a broad range of elements of both Management and Financial Accounting. This role is based at our Warrington office working within the Management Accounts team and requires a person who is technically astute in accounting policies, understands the relationship between P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash, and possesses strong communication skills. The successful applicant will be able to pick up established good practice and manage their workload during a period of change as the business implements a new ERP system.
