An opportunity has arisen for an Accountant to join the private office for a HNWI based in central London.

Client Details

My client is a private HNWI and well-known public figure. Their office is based in central London.

Description

Key Responsibilities for the Private Office Accountant include:


  • Financial Reporting
    - preparation of quarterly Management Accounts
    - performing key month-end close activities including bank reconciliations, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and other ledger close activities on Quickbooks.
    - preparation of Year End Financial Statements including liaising with external auditors during the audit process.
    - preparation and submission to HMRC of Quarterly VAT Returns
    - preparation and submission to HMRC of monthly CIS Returns
    - liaising with CFO/CEO on company financial performance including cash balance review and answering any queries.
    - liaising with the auditors and assisting with annual corporation tax calculations and financial statement preparation.
  • Operational Finance Activities
    - prepare annual budget for all entities.
    - prepare annual expected revenue forecast.
    - maintain tight control of overhead cost ledger against budget and report any overspend on a monthly basis to CEO.
    - prepare and maintain Cashflow Forecast and report to CEO on a monthly basis.
    - monitor cash balance closely.
    - key treasury responsibilities including filing of Confirmation Statements with Companies House as well as ensuring financial statements and corporation tax returns are filed on time.
  • Commercial Project Reporting
    - preparation of monthly drawdown packs to external funding partners.
    - preparation and updating of project cashflow forecasts on a monthly basis.
    - analysing project costs against appraisal and reporting any variances to external funding partners and development surveyors.
    - remaining a key point of contact between project team and funding partners when resolving any financial queries.
    - assist the project team with the handover of utility contracts on the purchase of a new asset.


  • Accounts Payable and Receivable Cycles
    - managing the accounts payable and payments cycle for all entities.
    - screening of purchase invoices to determine whether they are addressed to the correct legal entity.
    - preparation of employee expense reports.
    - posting of invoices and tracking them through the approval process.
    - ensuring invoices are within budget and allocated correctly.
    - managing the payment process through online banking facilities.
    - issuing remittance advices.
    - preparation of sales invoices for project development management fees.
    - debtor recoverability.

  • Profile

    The successful Private Office Accountant will have the following credentials:

    Professional qualifications: Must be CPA/ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or qualified by experience

    Sector experience: experience in a family office or real estate and property management company is a plus

    In addition, the individual will need to be able to multi-task, be pro-active, a self-starter and have excellent communication skills.
