Michael Page Finance are pleased to be working exclusively with a leading manufacturing business based in Tipton, West Midlands. The business is looking for an individual to join them as Group Accountant, a role which is Number 1 in Finance and work towards a Finance Director role.
In this Group Accountant role you will be responsible for providing financial advice, support and guidance, aiding the Group Directors in making key decisions based on relevant and regulatory data. This role is very visible, you will play a vital part in the business' future plans, business partnering with Directors, Production Management, Procurement & more. A key part of the role is to take a detailed review of what the business do, how they do it and how they ensure continuous improvement.
Description
As Group Accountant, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Support the Company Directors with company-wide budgetary planning
- Oversee, review, and adhere to the budgets for each business department, raising challenges in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all of the company's financial practices are in line in statutory regulations and legislation
- Analyse the financial climate and market trends to assist Company Directors in creating strategic plans for the future
- Interpret complex financial information and provide updates and information as needed
- Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions
- Supervise financial supporting staff as applicable in the facilitation of day-to-day operations, including tracking financial data, invoicing, payroll, etc.
- Timely preparation of official reports on a monthly and annual basis
- Seek out methods and practices to minimise financial risk
- Contract auditing services to ensure financial monitoring is up-to-date
- Create and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, including banking institutions and accountants
- Update and implement financial policies and procedures as applicable
Profile
- Qualified Accountant with at least 5 years PQE
- Non-Finance & Finance Stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills with ability to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships
- Experience with partnering at senior levels
- Confident with ability to constructively challenge to drive performance
