Ensure that all financial transactions of the business are fully reconciled and recorded in line with the company and accounting statutory requirements, and prepare periodic financial statements to the board of directors, Companies House and HRMC. Fulfil company secretarial duties, ensuring that the business is carrying out its legal responsibilities. Ensure accounts are filed on time and reported within deadlines set by regulatory bodies
Client Details
My client, who are part of a larger group, specialise in the manufacturing of industrial grade dryers and dehydrators. With a regional turnover of around £15million, they are now looking for a new Financial Controller to help guide them through what is an exciting period.
Description
- Conduct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Manage local statutory reporting and income tax preparation and submission.
- Supervise the finance, accounts departments.
- Manage P&L/ general ledger/ weekly cashflow, credit cards and bank accounts.
- Supervise weekly/monthly P11Ds/ VAT reconciliations, Intrastat EC sales/HMRC/NI payments, R&D claims.
- Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations.
- Manage cash/bank reconciliations in £/$/Euro and prepare related journal entries.
- Preparation of business unit financial reporting for local and HQ, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Understand ERP systems and have a thorough understanding of cost/inventory modules.
- Provide operational financial analysis to department managers.
- Lead and Manage the annual financial statement statutory audit.
- Identify opportunities and implement continuous improvement in accounting processes.
- Analysis of all expenditure-direct and indirect.
- Provide support / analyses to inventory reduction and stock control.
- Provide support and/or manage an ERP implementation.
- Manage foreign exchange values with efficiency and cost-effective management.
- To be part of the senior management team providing relevant information of financial details and providing support to the other members of the senior management team.
- To manage details with company accountants to ensure and provide accurate management information.
Profile
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA Qualified Accountant.
- Exposure / experience in dealing with foreign currency's.
- Resilient attitude.
- Positive and inquisitive mindset.
- Relevant sector experience desirable.
