Your new role
The Head of Finance is a newly created role reporting to the CFO and your key task will be to define, develop, propose and implement a best-in-class Financial Accounting & Reporting Function (A&R) which has a current team of 12 with planned new hires to increase to 15-16.
You will lead and enhance financial accounting and reporting disciplines to large private business and full listed company standards including accountability for:
* Management accounting
* Financial reporting
* Technical accounting
* Tax and Treasury
* Financial Controls Framework
* Payroll
* Financial transactions processing (internal shared services (AR/AP, Reconciliations, payments etc)
You will foster commercial partnering through periods of change, evolving and maintaining these relationships as well as working with the FP&A team to support them in the development of proposed business planning scenarios with guidance on profit, capital and risk considerations.
Together with other senior finance members you will define and develop finance strategic projects and gain support at the executive level and build strong relationships with the leadership team and senior business management.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience of operating in a large private business (£1bn valuation) or listed company, including working alongside senior management in external stakeholder communications and where appropriate, to affect announcements, and quarterly trading updates. You will have comprehensive experience and expert technical knowledge of key accounting standards and policies including IFRS and UK GAAP as well as regulatory reporting experience.
You will have excellent leadership skills and experience of managing teams greater than 10 people and be highly resilient and organised with an independent mind as well as decisive with a willingness to challenge.
