My client, an instantly recognisable charity organisation, is seeking an accomplished senior finance professional with charity experience and a financial qualification to join them on a 6 to 12 month contract as their Head of Finance.
This is a No1 finance position and comes about at a key moment in the onward development of the organisation. Responsible for the day-to-day financial operations and management of a small, dedicated finance team.
Key responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be a senior finance leader, qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA. Prior Charity and SORP accounting experience is highly desirable, alongside strong leadership and management skills.
Keen to find the right person, they are looking for someone able to start at relatively short notice.

Key responsibilities:
- To lead and manage the finance department.
- To manage, plan, prioritise and monitor the workload of staff, ensuring that they carry out their duties effectively and efficiently both individually and as a team.
- To provide such supervision and training as is necessary to develop their skills.
- To foster a 'can-do' culture in a team-based environment overseeing all day-to-day activities of the finance department and drive effective financial management across the charity.
- Responsible for the preparation of the statutory and management accounts for the charity and supporting the management with any audit processes.
- Responsible for ensuring that the budget process, monthly management accounts, forecast/ reforecasts and all resulting reports meet the deadlines set for senior management and key meetings.
