Group Finance Manager - based junction 6 off the M6 - salary 55K

Hays are delighted to be supporting a Private Equity backed manufacturing company with a long Midlands history based near Birmingham city centre with full parking and a hybrid working model.

Your new role
As Group Finance Manager you will report into the Group Financial Controller and work in a small established finance team. Key duties are outlined below

* Production of month end consolidated and individual UK company management accounts including P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow.
* Generation of monthly reporting pack including various financial KPI's.
* Ensure that Balance Sheet control accounts have been appropriately prepared and reviewed.
* Ensure that key balance sheet accounts are appropriately supported by underlying detailed analysis and relevant documentation.
* Ensure that intercompany transactions have been appropriately reconciled & eliminated on consolidation, including Stock management and valuation.
* Correct application, in line with current accounting standards & internal policies, of accounting for all foreign currency denominated transactions.


Year end audit & tax
* Preparation of year end audit pack for 3rd party external audit, liaising with auditors as necessary.
* Preparation of year end tax pack, working with 3rd party advisors to support tax provisions and draft tax computations.
* Preparation of draft statutory accounts (consolidated & Individual company).


Budgets & Forecasts
* Assist with production of equivalent Month end reporting requirements for the Budget, Quarterly and longer term Forecasts.
* Work with colleagues on collation & reporting of relevant information to generate a draft budget reporting pack for review.
* Ensure Budgets & Forecasts have been prepared on a consistent basis (including consistency with actual practice).

Accounting Policies & Procedures
* Ensuring internal policies & procedures are compliant with UK GAAP / FRS 102.
* Ensure accounting policies & procedures are applied consistently, including the application by the overseas businesses.
* Apply internal audit approach to validate compliance.

This is a interesting and hands on role and is looking for a proven Qualified or QBE Accountant.


What you'll need to succeed
Qualified or QBE, you will have a proven track record preparing month end accounts in a busy SME environment. This could suit someone making their 1st or 2nd move from Practice or an industry trained candidate.
