Your role reports directly to the Finance Director - an approachable and modern-thinking CIMA qualified FD who will be on hand give you guidance and encouragement.

To some degree the role is 'what you make of it’ - the FD is looking for someone who can take more and more responsibility over the next 2-3 years…

Initially you’ll be involved in month end, review of transactions and existing processes/controls, management accounts prep, P&L analysis and commentary, reconciliations and balance sheet review…

Once you have found your feet with their systems and processes you’ll be involved in financial management and presentations for smaller group subsidiary companies, budgeting, forecasting, year end stat accounts, project accounting, development of the commercial reporting and MI pack, system development…. Loads of added value stuff alongside the business as usual.

It’s a superb environment for an ambitious, confident and down to earth accounting professional - someone that has keenness to step from Assistant MA to a fully fledged management accountant / business partnering or financial management role over the next 2-3 years.

Fully study support is provided and you’ll ideally be looking to complete CIMA / ACCA now that AAT is boxed off (or if you have completed an accounting degree)…

You need:

• Experience of month end requirements ideally within a business of >£10m turnover.
• A hands on approach and excellent debits ad credits understanding!!
• Great interpersonal skills and ability to discuss financial info with a non finance audience.
• Excellent practical Excel skills (pivots / lookup functions etc)
• AAT or equivalent accounting degree.
