Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a leading and rapidly growing group to recruit for a dynamic and driven Assistant Management Accountant for their Cheltenham, Gloucestershire office. A permanent and fast-paced accounting role offering development and progressive, remote/office hybrid working and study package (if applicable) working within a hands-on finance team. Reporting directly into the Financial Controller you will be responsible for the management and production of accounts for entities within the Group. The role will be most suited to an AAT Qualified finance professional studying CIMA/ACCA/ACA, candidates qualified by experience will be considered. Your new role

Your key duties will involve the preparation/production of management accounts, assisting with year-end audit schedules and liaison with auditors, developing individual profit/loss accounts and supporting with the management of month-end closedowns. You will conduct balance sheet reconciliations, track/monitor suppler and customer rebates along with liaising with business managers providing accurate financial information. You will ensure stock is managed and stocktakes are completed, support/assist with various financial projects including the roll out if a new ERP system, and liaise with other Departments to ensure that they all have 'finance friendly' procedures which contribute to the integrity of all Company information. The role will be tailored around the right finance professional, and you will be provided with training from an experienced and hands-on Financial Controller.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this position you will need some experience within a similar role, ideally AAT qualified working towards CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience. You will have key MS excel skills (pivots/lookups), have the ability to build relationships both internally/externally with financial and non-financial colleagues, along with having a positive approach to problem solving with an analytical focus. You will have strong communication skills, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and enjoy working independently and within a team environment. Experience with management accounts preparation, MS Navision or MS Dynamics business central one, and process improvement would be desirable but not essential.
