Marks Sattin is currently recruiting for an Internal Audit Manager for a leading client based in York.

Working with the Group Head of Internal Audit, you will be helping to establish what is to be a "best in class" function. With the audit plan in place for next year, phase two of establishing this team is to recruit for an Internal Audit Manager who is able to face off to key stakeholders.

Working in a very flexible environment, you will have the ability to work flexibly as long as you are able to face off to stakeholders when required on site.

The audit plan is a blend between operational and financial audits and as the role evolves and the function grows, you will take on some cross boarder reviews. With the increase in work, there is projected an increase in staff numbers with the team seat to reach 3, ensuring breadth and depth of capability in the team supports the business and function needs.

In the role:

  • You will oversee planning, from initial conversations with the business, to fieldwork, to reporting of the draft findings and proposed actions to the business.
  • Perform risk assessments on key business activities and use this information for the scoping of audits.
  • Evaluate risks and mitigating controls and prepare reports on findings with emphasis on business improvements.
  • Act as a consultant, advising departments, providing recommendations across the business

Ideally you will be qualified or working towards the completion of a qualification (IIA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and ideally exposure to delivering financial & operational audits.

You will have the ability to summarise complex issues and work with the organisation to provide commercial solutions to help meet he risk appetite of the business.
