Head of Finance | Solihull (remote working - 1 day per week office based) | £65,000 - £75,000 + suite of benefits

The Opportunity

Rapidly expanding, award winning group based in the West Midlands have an extremely exciting opportunity for a highly ambitious Head of Finance (number 1 in finance, reporting to the CEO and COO).

The role will provide the right candidate a swift platform for development and it is hoped you will be well poised for your first FD role in the next 2- 3 years.

The £4m turnover VC backed business is experiencing growth and significant exciting change. They are expanding in the UK and overseas and the vision and current forecasts make it an incredibly exciting environment to join. You will need to be extremely hands on and comfortable in a continuous improvement and fast growth setting. You’ll be overhauling all existing financial controls and processes, bringing reporting in house. You’ll be refreshing and revitalizing all commercial reporting and MI - ensuring the boardroom has completely credible and insightful financial information to provide a sound platform for ongoing decision making.

The role would be a perfect platform for a qualified Finance Manager / Financial Controller looking to join a business that can offer them major scope to progress. You need to be comfortable as number one in finance for an agile, ambitious and modern tech group (circa 30 employees currently).

You’ll be working in an extremely vibrant and modern setting - this is a forward-thinking group driven by tech. A high degree of remote working is fine (you will likely be in the office 1 day a week on average - although if you would prefer more then that’s fine. They have a hugely impressive and aspirational young leadership team / boardroom and youll enjoy working with people with massive ambition and high credibility.

The role will include:

• Business partnering and providing insightful financial summaries for the business leaders.
• Bottoming out robust controls and financial processes to ensure financial reporting is highly accurate, credible and timely.
• Developing commercial reporting and MI packs that shine a clear light on risk, opportunity and real time KPIs.
• Variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Business partnering all functions of the group.
• Year end processes.
• Cash management / forecasting.

You will need:

• CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualification - confidence in a tech environment and a modern, growing SME of sub £5m turnover.
• A proven track record of success in either industry or practice - strong financial controls are required in this ambitious SME and you need to be able to demonstrate ability to give the directors numbers that you are confident in (with integrity and knowledge that they can completely rely on the info being presented).
• Firm core accounting skills.
• Experience of producing and presenting detailed management accounts to senior stakeholders.
• Excellent Excel / data analysis skills.
• A real drive to progress and make a difference.
• Bags of enthusiasm and the communication skills to allow you to build relationships with a wide audience of colleagues / external stakeholders / potential investors.
