As Finance Business Partner for Operations, you will work closely with the Production Director and Operations team. You will be instrumental in leading, coordinating and delivering improvements to systems and processes across the Operations team to enhance data integrity and accuracy, initially with specific focus on product costing. The role will also need to provide oversight of finance operations within area of responsibility, covering the capital investment process for Production and other tasks as needed.

The business behind the iconic motorsport team is undergoing a phenomenal transformation with significant investment into their infrastructure and capacity. The dynamic leadership team at the helm of the business have sought to build a cohesive environment with a high-performance culture. Encouraging each department to take ownership of their respective areas but to collaborate openly too, harnessing best practice and a sense of togetherness, where everyone is collectively driving the performance of the team forward.

The successful candidate will have experience of business partnering and project management. It is essential to have knowledge of standard costing systems and costing methodologies, ideally within a manufacturing & precision engineering environment within the automotive or aerospace sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Design and Production teams to understand operational workflows and drive consistency of process and ERP interaction
  • Drive a workstream to design and implement process and system enhancements for improved product costings; co-ordinate workshops between Finance, Operations and IT functions to facilitate this
  • Improve finance process in respect of actual and standard product costings including regular review of labour and overhead absorption rates
  • Track and report on progress of this and other improvement projects, generating outputs to feed into Steering Committee forums as required
  • Identify further opportunities for enhanced business partnering of the manufacturing and production teams, providing accurate and insightful financial analysis and forecasting in order to improve decision making capabilities
  • Support and challenge capex spend requests to ensure timely processing and value-for-money
  • Provide general oversight of finance operations within area of responsibility
