We are working on a retained basis to recruit a Head of Commercial Finance for a high-growth consumer goods business who are based near Wolverhampton. As the Head of Commercial Finance, you will work closely with an impressive CFO in building new and robust financial information for review by the Board.

You will also be responsible for the budgeting and forecasting process, producing monthly insight and in-depth analysis and developing a growing team.

You will have strong leadership capability, be commercially focused, and have the personality to influence and build relationships across the business. You will be a “true” team player who is happy to roll your sleeves up when required and support other areas where necessary.

You will be able to multitask and prioritise workload with a positive, flexible attitude in a fast-paced, PE-backed business. This is an exciting time to join given the business is set to grow rapidly through organic growth and acquisition over the next 3/5 years.

The Detail

  • Lead the financial planning processes to deliver achievable but stretching plans, including cashflow forecasting and covenant projections working closely with the central finance team
  • Create a high-functioning FP&A team to create agile, accurate, and insightful processes and reporting
  • Work closely with the wider finance team to drive team effectiveness and efficiencies through process automation and continuous improvement
  • Drive financial and non-financial forecasting and KPIs, evaluating risks and opportunities for the management team
  • Maintaining the 3/5 year plan outlook, and contributing to the objective assessment of past investments, M&A, and future opportunities
  • Providing performance analysis & variance commentary of budget vs forecast. Own analysis and explain key trends of the revenue base in detail.
  • Develop a seamless and robust month-end reporting process, ensuring an appropriate review/control/governance framework is in place.
  • Act as Finance Business Partner to the leadership team, responsible for supporting commercial growth opportunities and providing constructive challenge and expert guidance to business stakeholders
  • Support on ad hoc projects including presentations to external parties (e.g., PE house, banks, etc.), analysing potential acquisitions
