Our client is an absolutely fascinating business which operates at the cutting edge of sustainable technology. With an asset portfolio in excess of £200m, the business is an expert in the renewable energy / circular economy, owning and operating electric vehicle charging networks, district heating systems, wind farms, solar and waste to energy assets. 

The Role

A commercially astute Finance Business Partner who combines strong analytical skills with outstanding communication and influencing ability is required to partner the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team.

Partnering the Managing Director, the purpose of the role is to drive performance, enhance asset value and improve cash management across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing financial and operational KPI analysis (with support of one/two analysts);
  • Building strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders, supporting decision making by providing reliable data and insights;
  • Enhancing forecasting and planning, providing appropriate challenge;
  • Providing input to cost, margin and profitability modelling and analysis;
  • Preparing business case analysis and investment appraisal;
  • Developing controls and procedures to support efficiency and optimum performance;
  • Supporting the Finance Director on projects including fundraising, refinancing and occasional M&A (acquisitions and disposals).

  • A commercially astute, business minded qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA);
  • Strong analytical and interpretation skills, with a continuous improvement mindset;
  • Outstanding communication and people skills. Ability to build productive cross functional relationships, challenge constructively and ensure professional objectivity;
  • Advanced Excel skills with ability to manipulate large complex data sets.
