Gleeson Recruitment Group are working in partnership with the leadership of an iconic motorsport team as they seek to build an industry leading Finance team. This time we are supporting them with the appointment of a newly created Commercial Finance Business Partner position that sits in their team based in Northamptonshire. This role will report directly to the Head of Commercial Finance and hold primary relationships with the Group Chief Commercial Officer, department leads across the wider business and their teams.

The Commercial Finance Business Partner will be a brand-new role and remit, this is a very exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to really shape the role from scratch in a business with a premium brand that has global reach. You will seek to support the development of the strategic plan and financial reporting for new business ventures and commercial activities. You will be the primary financial point of contact and support for all non-production related departments and leaders, providing them with accurate and insightful financial analysis and forecasting to improve decision making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

MONTH END

  • Ownership of timely, insightful and accurate production of management reporting for the business, including calculation and input into the general ledger of various accruals and prepayments, review and analysis of costs and income, and preparation of the leadership team reporting pack.
  • Responsible for understanding variances against budget or forecast.
  • Ownership of the preparation of multiple balance sheet reconciliations and support with audit process.
  • Ensure POs and invoices are coded correctly onto the P&L or balance sheet through regular review of invoices with accounts payables and cost centre reviews to check for incorrect postings.

BUSINESS PARTNERING

  • Provide business partnering to the Chief Commercial Operating Officer and key Cost Centre owners and their teams, providing them with accurate and meaningful financial information to support them with month end reviews and budgets / reforecasts, as well as decision making to drive the business forward and influence results.
  • Preparation of budgets and reforecasts to provide clear and accurate reporting.
  • Support the development of new business cases, supporting the strategic priorities of the business.

OTHER

  • Identify and implement improvements in systems and processes to ensure all work carried out is efficient and value adding.
  • Assist the other Finance Business Partners and other Head of departments with adhoc requests to support the business when required.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
  • Significant Management Accounting experience (minimum of three years)
  • Experience of Business Partnering.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment, dealing with a high volume of workload
  • Communicate information effectively verbally and in writing with use of graphical tools as necessary
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with ability to challenge effectively across departments
