Assistant Accountant

Working for a growing organisation, I am really excited to be working on an assistant accountant role. The ssistant Accountant plays a crucial role of handling the day to day activities of the Accounting and Finance department and supports general accounting procedures.

Duties wil include , but not limited to:

Core responsibilities - Sales Ledger processes

• Preparation and reconciliation of invoice finance facility
• Process cash receipts and forecast future cash receipts for the weekly Cash Flow Forecast
• Review sales orders exceptions based on account credit position and communicate to relevant teams
• Review and improve sales ledger processes

Core responsibilities - General Accounting Processes

• Produce routine reconciliation of accounts to ensure financial control and accuracy
• Post monthly general accounting journals fully supported with workings

Supporting Responsibilities

• Provide cover for Finance Operations Manager
• General Accounting procedures and reconciliations as required to support the FC and FM
• Support reporting and information for key stakeholders including Group, Auditors, HMRC, Bank + ONS
• Credit control, including chasing and collecting monies due from customers
• Support the management of Purchase Ledger Processes
• Other ad-hoc work as required to support the Finance function.
• New customer set up and review of credit terms
• Processes risk reviews, including assessing credit checks and credit insurance cover
• Deal with NCRs (Non Conformance Reports) and customer queries in relation to these
• Producing Customer invoices and credit notes

About you:

• Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• 2+ years' experience in a Finance Team - essential
• AAT or Accounting degree qualification - preferred
• Drive and ambition to progress within Finance function
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other computer systems and databases
• Ability to use initiative to organise themselves and others to ensure deadlines are met
• A flexible team player with the ability to work proactively
