Financial Accountant

A London Market insurer with a global presence is looking for an Financial Accountant to join the team following a successful period of growth purpose of this role is to assist with the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual deliverables relating to the Group and its subsidiaries.

In this role, responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Support the consideration and implementation of new accounting standards (IFRS and UK GAAP) within the group
• Assist in preparing and continuously developing the monthly working files on intercompany balances, foreign exchange, associate profits and share-based payments
• Manage the intercompany process for designated group companies, ensuring clearance by month end deadlines
• Further develop the Group's regular reporting on associated undertakings and structured entities
• Assist in preparing the annual financial statements
• Assist with production of reports showing historical and planned performance tailored to varied audiences
• Perform ad hoc accounting tasks and reporting as required
• Identify and implement process improvements relating to the production of financial information and automate where possible, in particular using Finance MI

The candidate for this position must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and ideally will either be coming from an accounting practice in the the external audit teams working on inancial service clients or, they will have experience working withing the insurance industry with good technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
