Marks Sattin are working in partnership with an exciting and extremely fast paced Retailer and Wholesaler based in Derby to recruit a Management Accountant on a full-time permanent basis. The position is a hybrid working role, with 3 days in office and 2 from home.
My client is going through a great time of growth and are looking to add to their finance team. The Management Accountant will report to the Finance Manager with a dotted line in to the Group Financial Controller and will play an integral part in ensuring timely and accurate financial information is provided to aid key commercial decision making across the business. Given the nature of the role within a retail/wholesale business, some knowledge of stock and inventory is key to the position.
Responsibilities of the Management Accountant include:
- Managing the production of management accounts for the subsidiary companies within the Group
- Assisting with the production of budgets and forecasts within the Group
- Conducting monthly group stock valuations and provisions
- Maintaining stock costing information on to the ERP system for all subsidiaries within the Group
- Reviewing and reconciling the monthly gross margin
- Liaising with and assisting with the internal and external audits
- Ensuring accounting information is clear and concise, ensuring any anomalies are highlight for resolution
- Ensuring the 'continuous improvement' ethos is upheld and risks are highlighted to senior management
- Business Partnering with both internal and external stakeholders, such as Sales, Marketing, Procurement and Customer Services and other finance teams within the Group
To be considered you must:
- Be part or fully qualified in either CIMA, ACA or ACCA
- Have extensive management accounting experience in a busy finance team
- Must have good knowledge of MS Office packages particularly intermediate/advanced MS Excel
- Have experience of using an ERP accounts software package
- Have the ability to work accurately under pressure and to deadlines
- Be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
- Have experience in Stock reporting, including stock valuations and provisions
