Fund Controller - Real Estate - OUR CLIENT is an internationally successful Private Equity Group who manage a portfolio of funds and products across Europe, providing an exceptional service to their investors while taking pride in an inclusive workplace culture. They have now instructed us to recruit a Qualified Accountant to take responsibility for the fund operations management and control for a small portfolio of complex funds.

 

THE ROLE: Acting as a Fund Controller, you will be supporting the Real Estate Head of the UK and assisting the broader Real Estate Equity Team, as well as managing the entire financial reporting and cash management of several Real Estate Funds:

  • Monitoring and controlling external service providers in compliance with a vendor governance
  • Ensuring timely and accurate production of quarterly and annual financial reports of funds and SPVs produced by third parties under UK GAAP or IFRS for both open-end and closed-end fund structures and segregated
  • Reviewing and approving fund and investor performance returns, unit/share prices and management
  • Preparing and/or reviewing and approving distribution forecasts and variance
  • Co-ordinating and preparing financial audits in conjunction with third
  • Preparing Internal reporting.
  • Approving invoices and authorising
  • Providing transactional support in relation to acquisitions, dispositions and (re)financing especially with regards to operational aspects, deal structure setup and tax
  • Reviewing financial/tax due diligence
  • Calculating and/or reviewing proforma NAVs and purchase price considerations based on deal transaction documents.
  • Ensuring direct and indirect tax filings and tax obligations including FATCA/CRS are managed and reviewing returns from an operational perspective.
  • Considering the adequacy of transfer pricing documentation and substance
  • Handling ad hoc enquiries from internal and external

 

THE PERSON: To apply, you MUST be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent - practice background preferred) with relevant post-qualification funds experience. Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP accounting including consolidations is a must. Working experience in an international and multicultural environment and expertise in international direct and indirect tax regimes and how they apply to funds and SPVs would be an advantage. It is essential that you are a confident Excel user as well as being conversant with other Microsoft Office tools. You are expected to be a great communicator (verbal and written). You should possess strong decision-making skills and ability to prioritise tasks, duties and challenges putting them into the big picture.
