Our client is a well-established and highly regarded professional services firm based in the City and across the Home Counties.  The organisation has ambitious growth plans and is looking to expand revenue via a buy and build strategy.  The organisation is considering potential external investment or fundraising which will necessitate both a cultural and an organisational transformation across the business.  For this reason the Management are looking to hire a CFO to help lead this journey of expansion and change.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop the group’s financial strategy to meet the overall business strategy and objectives
  • Oversee the group’s finance function and ensure all systems, processes and controls are fit for purpose and will assist with projected growth
  • Oversee the group’s budgeting process
  • Develop performance measures and monitoring systems that support the group’s strategic direction
  • Take a lead role in managing financial Governance and compliance across the organisation
  • Take a lead role in all M&A activity which is anticipated to be significant
  • Take a lead role in managing external relationships such as banks, investors and other stakeholders

This role will be both high profile and visible across the organisation.  Therefore the ideal candidate will have to be resilient, credible, a strong communicator and display gravitas and self-confidence as there will undoubtedly be challenges from within the organisation, as there always are with any change and transformation.  This is an extremely exciting time to be joining an experienced leadership team as it embarks on the next phase of organisational growth and value creation.  Successful applicants must have had some prior experience of working within a professional services environment, even if it is not the most recent sector of employment.
