Client Accountant Team Leader - Commercial. OUR CLIENT is a well-established owner/investor property firm investing in commercial and residential real estate across London and the UK. They have acquired assets across multiple sectors including retail, leisure, residential, multi-let and hotels. The Group has an established long-term portfolio under management and further aspirations to grow the portfolio, with a range of new investment requirements and an appetite to attract new property management instructions. They now require a Client Accountant Team Leader to manage a team of 3 people in the Property Accounting team.
THE ROLES fundamental tasks and responsibilities may include, but not be limited to the following:
- Leading the Property Management Accounts department of 3.
- Managing the overview of all tasks and responsibilities of the accounts team, all KPI's and ensuring that internal and external client related deadlines are met.
- Compliance with procedures. Review and revision of procedures.
- Reviewing and preparing the management reports and cashflow forecasts monthly/quarterly/annually.
- First point of contact to the group's chief accountants and other external clients. To navigate and communicate with all parts of the business as required.
- Regular Analysis and reporting of portfolio aged debt and corporate fee collection. Coordinating the parties required to service these items.
- Overview of the core accounting functions:
- Quarterly / six monthly client statement packs
- Quarterly / monthly VAT returns, acting as VAT Agent
- Bank reconciliations
- Cash collection and management from tenants
- Accounts Payable function with regular automated payment runs
- Service charge reconciliations
- Service charge void payments
- Yearly & quarterly cash flow forecasting
- Lease database management
- Preparing Asset Management cashflow modelling and forecasting for a shopping centre. Owned via three separate Titles. Liaising with property managers and asset managers to maintain and update a 2-year cashflow model.
- Preparing Asset Management cashflow modelling and forecasting of a City Centre office fund (UK Client Accounts). Comprising 4 SPV companies with separate rent and service charge client accounts.
THE PERSON: To apply, YOU MUST be a either Part Qualified or Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) who has come from a commercial Property/Service charge accounting background and is happy to be 'hands on' in terms of preparing client reports and service charges. Experience of delivering excel based financial modelling is ideal and you will have good double-entry bookkeeping experience.
This is a great opportunity for someone to take on the responsibility of managing a small team and ensure the running of the finance department is smooth. The client are offering hybrid working (2 days from home/3 in the office) plus good bonus.
