Our Police and Public Protection Technology (PPPT) portfolio (annual budget circa £150m) is responsible for the design, build and deployment of national law enforcement systems. We work towards highly effective, efficient systems which leverage modern digital technologies and provide world-class law enforcement capabilities.
The role
A trusted business partner, you will provide financial expertise to the PPPT management team, project staff and other enabling business partners. You will play a key role in financial business planning, scenario modelling, option appraisal, financial risk management and in-year financial monitoring of budgets for business units across PPPT. You’ll not only to provide financial support, you’ll offer constructive challenge to optimise value for money. Accountable to the Senior Finance Business Partner for the quality of accounting information and reporting services, you will have a strong focus on continual improvement of performance and governance.
About you
Most likely CCAB or CIMA qualified, you will ideally have some experience of government financial management and control, including support for large projects, programmes and portfolios. This will include the ability to manage stakeholders and budgets across multiple funding streams. Developing and maintaining effective relationships and partnerships will be key to your success, so strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Highly organised, with well-developed resource and staff management skills, you’ll be equipped to promote an organisational culture that is positive about change.
