Suitable candidates for the role must have a deep understanding of the commercial drivers around inventory and working capital management in a manufacturing environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the Commercial Controller (effectively a Senior Finance Business Partner) is a business critical role whose purpose is to ensure the achievement of planned profitable growth of the Group across multiple business streams and countries.

The role works closely with a number of business unit leadership teams on both developing strategy and ensuring successful commercial and operational delivery of business plans.

The role holder is deeply involved in ensuring that the Group’s gross margins, working capital, Opex and Capex are correctly controlled, managed, understood and delivered as planned. 

The Candidate

This is a demanding and rewarding role that will suit a commercially driven individual. You will ideally  have trained in audit and have subsequent experience working in a finance role at a World Class manufacturing business, operating across multiple countries.

Key areas of experience required include the following:

  • ACA qualified accountant;
  • Experience gained in a manufacturing business is essential;
  • Proven experience in Financial Control in a business with complexity and, ideally, multi-country operations;
  • Strong grasp of inventory and working capital management in a manufacturing business;
  • Solid commercial acumen, business planning and analytical skills;
  • Excellent relationship building, communication and people skills across diverse country cultures. High levels of EQ;
  • Comfortable working at both strategic level and diving deeply into detail.

The role is an excellent “bridge” to a Finance Director role in due course. There is significant potential for progression in the Group.
