Tax Manager

A mid-tier Accountancy Practice has a wonderful opportunity for a Tax Manager to join their growing firm.

The successful candidate will join the fast-growing and dynamic Manchester office to provide support to the partners by managing the tax compliance affairs of a growing portfolio of clients as well as tax planning work arising on those clients across the group's portfolio.

Key duties of the role will include dealing with the compliance aspects of the tax work, including preparation or review of corporation tax returns and computations, running a portfolio of clients, tax advice to clients and involvement with tax planning and projects. The role provides a variety of work as the corporate client portfolio is varied and includes OMB's, SME's and groups.

The role provides a good range of work for someone with a solid tax background wishing to build on their experience in a fast growing office that will provide opportunities for progression.

The ideal candidate will be pro-active, resilient and driven. They will have recent practical experience in running a corporate tax compliance portfolio, will need relevant strong managerial skills and have a detailed up to date knowledge of taxation issues (relevant to owner-managed businesses and their shareholders).

Experience of organising the delivery of tax work, problem solving and the ability to use their own initiative is essential. In addition, they should possess the confidence and professionalism to establish credibility at all levels, be commercially minded and have a clear perception of client requirements.

With this role, come the pre-requisites that the candidate is motivated, committed and flexible with the ability to meet deadlines; a natural team player, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude is essential.

Candidates will be ACA or CTA qualified or equivalent. Experience of owner managed businesses is also strongly preferred.
