Listed technology business with a UK subsidiary near Birmingham Airport looking for a Financial Controller

Hays are delighted to be working with an interesting technology solutions business who are listed overseas to recruit a Financial Controller for their UK and European entity. The company are based near to Birmingham Airport and offer a hybrid working pattern.

Your new role
As Financial Controller you will oversee a small established team of 4 and report directly into the Finance Director. The UK entity has circa 50 staff so this is is a key hands on role. The company are very niche in their sector and this is a technical Financial Controller position. Key duties are outlined below:
* Preparing timely and accurate management and statutory accounts and ad hoc reports in line with reporting deadlines.
* Ensuring balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled on a monthly basis
* Ensuring effective financial controls are in place and full compliance with SOX
* Ensuring accurate and timely billing of annuity revenue and reconciliation of data across different systems.
* Key player in system and process improvements
* Completing tax and statutory returns.
* Leading a finance team of 4, taking responsibility for all areas of finance (eg Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Banking etc)
* Working with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with SOX and statutory regulations.
* Improving process and systems
* Liaising with and supporting other areas of the business as required.

What you'll need to succeed
This role requires a technically focussed Financial Controller. You will be fully qualified with experience working for a listed business, ideally with knowledge of SOX and US GAAP. You will have good TAX and VAT knowledge. This role would probably suit someone who has trained in Practice or as a Financial Accountant within a larger head office environment.
