Heyland Recruitment are working exclusively with this global market leader with the FMCG sector as they look to recruit a talented and ambitious Finance Analyst into their Commercial Finance Team based at their head office in Liverpool. The successful candidate will be ACCA/CIMA part qualified or qualified with excellent Excel skills and previous exposure to a well-rounded accounts role with complete visibility of the company P&L. You'll pull together, review and analyse information in varying formats to provide key information to varying stakeholders across the business, playing an important role in assisting with key commercial decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides analysis and clarification both on actual product costs and on estimations of future costs, including Commercial Strategy impacts.
  • Responsible for End-to-End calculations to support submission of actual, forecast and budget results
  • Responsible for the financial evaluation of new product development and value engineering opportunities
  • Responsible for accurate recording of logistics costs to enable robust actual and forecast COGS.
  • Timely and accurate reporting of budget and monthly COGS forecast for inclusion in forecast submissions.
  • High quality analysis of actual product costs versus forecast through collaborative working with Financial Accountant on a monthly basis to support month end submission.
  • Responsibility for transfer price and factory profit calculations to support End to End, month end submission.
  • Ownership and presentation of COGS KPI pack for all businesses to Senior Management and for discussion at the monthly Key Account forecast review meetings.
  • Finance link to Central finance and factories to provide updated monthly cost forecasts to enable robust financial forecasting and Commercial strategy decision making.
  • Finance link to the UK purchasing team for product cost information
  • Collaborative working with UK Supply Chain Director and Supply Chain Team for accurate forecasting of Logistics costs including variance analysis.
  • Analysis and interpretation of product cost data to provide insight and advice to the UK and Export Commercial Teams.
  • Collaborative working with Commercial Director, Commercial Controllers & Commercial Finance Manager to ensure alignment on cost intelligence and corrective commercial actions
  • Collaborative working with Financial Controller to ensure alignment on cost intelligence and corrective commercial actions.
  • Finance link to Marketing team for Local and Global new product development and value engineering opportunities, including financial evaluation and analysis.
  • Key Finance lead in meetings providing financial insight and analysis on all NPD evaluations.
  • Upload updated cost forecasts to enable robust financial deal analysis.
  • Liaise with UK purchasing team to ensure timely update of all logistics costs to enable accurate recording of actual stock valuation.

Required Experience / Skills

  • Undergraduate degree, plus recognised accountancy qualification. Preferably CIMA or ACCA / studying
  • Demonstrable experience of providing analysis and insight to senior management of a commercial organisation.
  • High level of skills in Microsoft XL, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proven experience of compilation and presentation of detailed profitability analysis, including what-if analysis
  • Ability to work on own initiative and anticipate issues, trends and opportunities for improvement and present compelling recommendations for change
  • Previous experience of SAP would be an advantage
