Heyland Recruitment is pleased to be working with this international multimillion turnover manufacturing organisation in their requirement to hire a fully qualified Accountant into the role of Financial Controller at their head office in Runcorn. Working directly for an autonomous subdivision of a multibillion-pound listed business the successful applicant will be reporting directly to the Finance Director and Managing Director and will be accountable for the following responsibilities:

  • The financial management of the Company; ensuring the finance function meets both its reporting and operational objectives.
  • Ensuring that the business complies with the requirements of operating as part of a PLC including ownership of the group reporting
  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts, including reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, group reporting and the preparation of the board report.
  • Management of sales ledger, purchase ledger and payroll functions.
  • Preparation of financial data for budgeting, forecasting and strategy purposes.
  • Responsible for company tax compliance.
  • Supervision of internal and external audits.
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and year end group reporting.
  • Proactively contributing to other departments in terms of the general day to day management of the business.

Key Experience / Skills:

  • ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant
  • Previous experience within finance at a senior level
  • Financial management background including financial reporting and cost control
  • Manufacturing experience (ideal)
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter
  • A strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and operate to strict deadlines
  • Ability to build trust by operating with integrity, discretion, and professionalism in role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The mentality to question and challenge business processes
  • Advanced experience in use of Excel
