Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently working alongside a successful business based in Leeds as they look to recruit a professional & experienced Assistant Management Accountant on a permanent, full-time basis to assist the Finance manager in maintaining an efficient and accurate accounting function!

Working within sociable and hardworking team; you will be responsible assisting the Finance manager in maintaining an efficient and accurate accounting function and liaising with branch staff and suppliers responding to queries as and when required.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Assistant Management Accountant will include:

* Control of the purchase and sales ledgers, including the reconciliation of supplier accounts and generating payment runs
* Raising sales exchange invoices
* Chasing customer debts and other credit control duties
* Weekly bank reconciliations
* Posting journals
* Check and process credit cards and branch petty cash
* Dealing with queries
* Assisting with the production of the year end audit pack
* Assisting with monthly management accounts production
* Assisting with VAT reporting
* Assisting with monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Take responsibility for training the finance apprentice
* Preparation of weekly KPI/Stats reporting
* To perform any other duties which from time to time may be required to ensure the smooth running of the finance department

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

* You will be working towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualification
* Have previous experience as a finance assistant
* Demonstrable experience of administrative systems and procedures
* Strong communication skills (verbally and written)
* A good working knowledge of Sage 50 is desirable although not essential
* Driven & ambitious
