Elevation Accountancy & Finance are proud to be working in partnership with a reputable, leading manufacturing company based in Selby as they look to appoint a highly capable and committed Management Accountant into their team on a full time, permanent basis.

This is a brand new & exciting role within the business where you will be given responsibility and autonomy from day one. The Management Accountant taking on this new role will oversee the Management Accounts of the business, as well as combining hands-on support for the accounting functions with strategic financial management, as well as providing input into developing and growing the business.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Management Accountant will include:

* Transactional Accounting - oversight of sales and purchase invoicing, including all accounting functions (Sales Ledger, Credit Control, Purchase Ledger, Expenses and Reconciliation)
* Management Accounting - posting monthly accounting journals, budgets and forecasting, monthly spend analysis and production of monthly management accounts
* Compliance - managing the annual audit and filing of annual statutory accounts and Tax Returns to HMRC, as well as quarterly VAT filing and VAT reconciliation
* Cash & Banking - responsibility for banking systems and ensuring all appropriate controls are in place
* Ensure sufficient liquidity in the business at all times and that invoices are raised quickly; debts are chased and payments out managed
* Payroll - Work with HR Team ensuring that all staff are paid accurately and on time and that all payroll and pension filings are completed correctly

Person Specification:

* Proven experience with Management Accounts
* Professional accounting or finance qualification
* Ability to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate and efficient processes are being used/implemented
* Proficient in different finance and accounting systems
* Solid understanding and working knowledge of general accounting principles
* Enjoy being hands-on but also capable of stepping back and making strategic decisions
* Excellent attention to detail
